Epoxy Resin | Solid Cast 651 | Potting Resin 2:1 – 750mL Kit
1 x 500ml Part A Bottle
1 x 250ml Part B Bottle
Amber coloured economic transparent epoxy potting resin with excellent performance in electrical applications such as potting and coating motor windings. Cures with low reaction heat forming a rock hard resin. Extend with silica flour for large work and lower costs.
- Mixing Ratio 2:1 Volume
- Working time 1 Hours @ 25° C
- Low Viscosity
- Excellent impact resistance
Solid Cast 651 is used for electrical encapsulation and potting. It is also widely used for armature wire coating. Woodwork applications are an alternative use for Solid Cast 651 as it exhibits excellent impact resistance and bonding ability making it ideal for repairing cracks in wooden floor boards and filling knot holes in furniture. Epoxy pigments and dyes can also be used to colour tint Solid Cast 651.
Measure out 2 parts A to 1 part B by volume. Mix thoroughly in a straight sided, flat-bottomed container. Using a flat ruler shaped mixing stick, mix well, scraping around the sides and base of the container. Mix until the material is crystal clear, free of any streaks. Working time at 25°C is one hour, curing in 24 hours. A maximum casting of 700ml can be achieved in a single mass at 25°C
Always keep caps on bottles when not in use. Store at room temperature (18°) away from direct sunlight.
Do not store on concrete floors.
Work in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear protective gloves and glasses when mixing and using. Over-exposure may cause sensitization. Uncured material can be removed with a solvent or methylated spirit followed by washing
with warm soapy water. Always wear a mask when using any solvent cleaner.
TIPS FOR USE:
Note resins and hardeners’ have a tendency to go thick and cloudy in cold weather. Check materials are clear and free flowing before using. Material can be reconstitution by standing the bottles with caps removed, in very hot water and stir the contents until the liquids are runny and non-cloudy. Allow to cool back to room temperature before proceeding with mixing.
NOTE: Epoxies are temperature sensitive. Store at above 18°C. Check material is not cloudy before use; if so, warm until clear and allow to cool to room temperature.
Curing time 1 days @ 25°C
