How to thin down epoxy resin, you can use one of the following methods
Add a solvent: You can thin down most epoxy resins by adding a solvent such as 5% methylated spirits. This method works best with epoxy resins that are designed to be thinned with a solvent, however you must be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and see if the epoxy in fact can be thinned down.
Heat the Epoxy Resin: Epoxy resin becomes thinner when adding heat. You can place the epoxy resin container in a warm water bath or use a heat gun (from a distance) to warm up the resin. Be careful not to overheat the epoxy resin, as this can cause it to cure too quickly.
Use a thinning agent: There are commercial products available that are designed specifically to thin epoxy resin. These products are typically called "epoxy thinners" or "flow enhancers." Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully when using these products and test first.
Mix with a compatible resin: If you have a thicker epoxy resin, you can mix it with a thinner, more fluid epoxy resin to achieve the desired consistency. Be sure to use a compatible resin, and mix the resin thoroughly before use.
