How to use it

1
Charge under light
Expose the pigment or glitter to a strong light source — sunlight, LED or UV — to charge it.
2
Mix into your medium
Stir the powder into a clear medium such as epoxy resin. A typical starting ratio is 1–5% pigment by weight — adjust from there for the brightness you want.
3
Apply and cure
Stir thoroughly before applying or pouring, then let the project cure or dry as normal for whichever medium you're using.
4
Recharge as needed
Expose the finished piece to light again whenever the glow starts to fade. The longer you charge it, the longer it glows, up to about 3 hours.

FAQs

How does glow in the dark pigment powder work?+
The powder is photoluminescent — it absorbs light from a bright source such as sunlight, LED or UV, then slowly releases that stored energy as a visible glow once the light is removed. Recharge it under light again whenever the glow starts to fade.
How long does glow in the dark powder glow?+
Up to 3 hours after charging. The longer you charge it under light, the longer it glows, so a long charge under sunlight or a bright LED or UV light gives the best result.
How do I activate glow in the dark powder?+
Charge it under a strong light source such as sunlight, LED or UV light, then move it into the dark. It glows straight away and can be recharged as many times as you like.
Can I mix glow in the dark powder with acrylic paint?+
Mix it into a clear medium rather than coloured paint. Opaque paint blocks light from reaching the pigment, which weakens the glow. For painted work, stir the powder into a clear acrylic medium or varnish and apply it as a top layer.
Can you mix glow in the dark powder with water?+
Water on its own won't hold the powder in place once it dries. Mix it into a clear binder such as epoxy resin, a clear acrylic medium, varnish or clear glue so the glow stays where you put it.
Can I use this in epoxy resin?+
Yes. Mix it into your resin at roughly 1–5% by weight as a starting ratio, adjusting from there for how bright you want the glow, then stir thoroughly before pouring.
Is it just for resin, or can I use it in other crafts?+
It works in any clear medium as well as resin, including clear acrylic mediums, varnish, clear nail gel and clear glue for slime. Clear mediums let light reach the pigment, which gives the strongest glow.
How many colours are in the pack, and how much do I get?+
15 individually sealed jars — 12 glow in the dark pigment powders plus 3 glow in the dark glitters — each containing 10g, for 150g total.
Is it safe to use?+
It's non-toxic, but avoid inhaling the powder and use it in a well-ventilated area. It isn't intended for ingestion, and jars should stay sealed when not in use to keep the pigment dry and uncontaminated.
