Liquid Brushable Latex is a moulding compound based on pre-vulcanised natural rubber latex. It's built for mould production and air dries to a durable, elastic film that pulls strong, precise detail from your master.

Its high solids content gives it a thicker, higher-viscosity brush consistency than pourable latex, so it's less likely to run or sag as you build up coats by hand. How to Apply

Make sure your master is clean and free from dust or oil, then apply a PVA mould release to the prepared surface.

Brush the first coat straight from the container, working from top to bottom and overlapping onto the surrounding surface. Dry this coat at room temperature to help minimise lifting from the master.

Once the first coat is dry to the touch, apply further coats the same way, brushing top to bottom with a slight overlap each time. Drying between coats works well at room temperature, roughly 22-26°C.

As a general guide, smaller pieces need fewer coats and larger or non-porous masters need more — build up thickness gradually rather than rushing a single heavy coat, which is more likely to sag or trap moisture.

On larger moulds, a layer of cotton muslin or scrim pressed into a middle coat around edges can add strength and help prevent tearing on demould. Once fully cured, the mould is self-releasing — a light dusting of talc stops it sticking to itself in storage.

Storage & Care

Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use, out of direct sunlight and away from excess heat — high temperatures can cause shrinkage, cracking or a reduced-strength film. Clean brushes in warm soapy water immediately after use.
