In casting resin it makes keyrings, jewellery, coasters and trays in a bright fluorescent pink that also glows under UV.

Jewellery and keyrings

How to colour epoxy resin fluorescent pink

1
Stir the jar
Give the paste a stir first, because pigment can settle between uses.
2
Combine resin and hardener
Measure both parts at the correct ratio and mix them fully before any colour goes in.
3
Add colour gradually
Begin at around 2% and build up, stopping at 5%. Colour is easy to add and impossible to remove.
4
Blend until streak-free
Keep mixing, scraping the sides and base of the cup, until there are no streaks.
5
Pour and check under UV
Pour as normal. Once cured, view the piece under a black light to see it glow.
Stay within 5%. Too much pigment can leave the resin soft or tacky.

FAQs

Does Fluorescent Pink Flamingo glow in the dark?+
Fluorescent Pink Flamingo glows under a black light (UV light). It is a fluorescent pigment, so it needs the black light on it to glow. It does not keep glowing by itself in the dark.
How much fluorescent pigment paste do I add to resin?+
Add between 2% and 5% of your combined resin and hardener, which works out to about 2 grams per 100mL of mixed resin. Build the colour up gradually and stop at 5%.
How do I make Pink Flamingo resin that glows under black light?+
Mix your resin and hardener first, then stir in Fluorescent Pink Flamingo epoxy pigment paste at 2–5%. Once the piece has cured, view it under a black light to see it glow.
Will fluorescent pigment paste stop my resin curing?+
Not at 2–5%. Problems come from adding too much, which can leave resin soft or tacky. Mix your resin and hardener at the correct ratio first, then add the colour.
Does it work in polyurethane resin?+
Yes. Use it in Solid Cast 660 Polyurethane Casting Resin at the same 2–5% dose.
Can I use this UV reactive paste in UV resin?+
No. UV reactive describes how the colour glows under a black light. Epoxy pigment paste is not designed for UV resin. This paste is made for two-part epoxy resin and Solid Cast 660 Polyurethane Casting Resin.
Not suitable for UV resin. Epoxy pigment paste is not designed for UV resin.

Fluorescent paste vs other colourants

vs glow in the dark powder
Fluorescent paste glows while a black light is on it. Glow in the dark powder charges in light and then glows by itself in the dark. Choose Fluorescent Pink Flamingo for black light effects.
vs mica powder
Mica powder gives shimmer but does not react to black light. Fluorescent paste gives bright colour in daylight and a glow under UV.
vs acrylic paint
Acrylic paint carries water into the mix, which can stop resin curing properly. Fluorescent paste is made for resin.

Safety & storage

Protection
A mask and protective wear must be worn at all times.
Ventilation
Use in a well-ventilated area only.
Storage
Store the jar sealed, in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
Before each use
Stir the paste, because pigment can settle between uses.
