The Epoxy Resin Art 609 1:1 500mL Beginner Kit is an easy way to start with resin art. It has 250mL of resin and 250mL of hardener that mix in equal parts by volume, and cures to a tough, flexible, water clear, glass like finish. Use it on small canvases, photographs, decoupage and timber pieces, pouring from 1 mm to 25 mm.

How to use Resin Art 609

Set up
Make sure the object is clean and dry. Set it up on a plastic-covered surface and check it is level with a spirit level.

Measure 1:1
Measure 1 part A to 1 part B by volume.

Mix
Mix in a straight-sided, flat-bottomed container (not an ice cream container) with a flat, ruler-shaped stick. Scrape the sides and base until the mix is crystal clear and free of streaks.

Pour
Pour over your piece and let it self level. Add pigments or dyes for a deep 3D glass art look.

Cure
At 20 °C, allow about 1 day to cure and about 3 days for full cure.

Safety & storage

Protection
Wear protective gloves and glasses when mixing and using. Always wear a mask when using any solvent cleaner.
Ventilation
Work in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Over-exposure may cause sensitisation.
Storage
Keep caps on bottles when not in use. Store at room temperature (approx. 18 °C), away from direct sunlight and not on concrete floors.
Clean-up
Remove uncured resin with a solvent or methylated spirits, then wash with warm soapy water.

I create 3D resin painting which requires layer upon layer of resin with painting on each layer. I have only had time for a few layers so far but this resin is looking like it will be really good for my work. It is absolutely crystal clear and easy for me to paint on. I need to give it a few months to really make sure it works for me but at the moment I think it is looking like my go to for epoxy resin.
