About Carbon Black

Carbon Black, born from the combustion of gas, exhibits an unparalleled depth owing to its exceptionally fine particle size.

FAQs

What is the difference between black and carbon black?+
"Black" paints can be made from different pigments. Carbon Black is one specific pigment, PBk7, known for its deep colour and strong tinting power. Mars Black, for example, is made from iron oxide.
Is carbon black the same as Ivory Black?+
No. Ivory Black (PBk9) is made from charred bone and is warmer with lower tinting strength. Carbon Black is cooler and stronger.

Excellent quality

The quality has exceeded my expectations across every metric.

Rich Pigmentation & Coverage: The color payoff is exceptional. A single coat provides deep, vibrant opacity without needing multiple layers to hide the canvas underneath.

Smooth, Workable Texture: The consistency strikes a perfect balance—creamy enough for effortless blending, yet thick enough to hold brushstrokes and texture for dimensional techniques.

Fast Drying & Long-Lasting: It dries quickly to a beautiful, clean finish without cracking or dulling over time. Layering over dried sections is smooth and predictable.
