How to decoupage with Mixed Media Medium & Varnish
1
Shake the bottle
Gently shake the bottle. Use it straight from the bottle, with no diluting needed.
2
Brush on a layer
Brush a thin layer onto your wood, paper, canvas, terracotta or Eco Casting Powder surface.
3
Place your paper
Lay your paper, napkin or cut-out onto the wet glue and smooth it down gently from the centre out.
4
Seal over the top
Once dry, brush a coat over the top to seal. Allow 1–2 hours between coats, depending on the weather and humidity.
5
Finish
Add more coats for a stronger, glossier finish. Avoid over-brushing while each coat is drying.
Tip: avoid over-brushing
Brush each coat on smoothly and leave it. Continued over-brushing while it is drying may cause fogging once dry.
Always test a small amount first
Papers, prints and surfaces all behave differently. Try a small test piece first to check how the paper takes the glue and how the finish dries.
