This is a hard, tough varnish made for rigid surfaces. Do not use it on canvas, paper or flexible surfaces, and do not apply it over oil-based products.

Which varnish do I need?

Polyurethane Varnish (gloss or matte)
For wood, MDF, metal, plastic, concrete and other rigid surfaces, indoors and outdoors. A hard, tough, water and heat resistant finish. Not for canvas or paper.

For finished acrylic paintings on stretched canvas and canvas boards. Dries clear and stays flexible, archival and non-yellowing. Also a gloss medium for acrylic paint.

For decoupage and collage. Glue, sealer and clear gloss varnish in one, on wood, paper, canvas and terracotta.

How to apply polyurethane matte varnish

Prepare the surface
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and rigid.

Shake, do not dilute
Give the bottle a gentle shake and use the varnish straight from the bottle without adding water.

Apply thin coats
Brush on thin layers in a crisscross motion with a soft brush.

Let it dry between coats
Allow 6–8 hours drying time between coats. Apply more thin coats for extra protection.

Clean up
Wash your brush with soap and water straight after use.

Always test a small amount first

Surfaces, paints and previous coatings all behave differently. Brush a small test patch in an out-of-sight spot and let it dry before varnishing the whole piece.
