A stretched canvas is cotton cloth pulled taut over a wooden stretcher bar frame and secured at the back. Every canvas in this range comes pre-primed with three coats of acid-free gesso, so it's ready to paint straight away rather than something you prime yourself.
What's the difference between canvas and stretched canvas?▾
"Canvas" refers to the woven cotton cloth itself — the raw material. "Stretched canvas" is that cloth already mounted and pulled taut over a wooden frame, primed and ready to paint. Every product in this range is the stretched, ready-to-use version.
What sizes do you offer?▾
This blank canvas range comes in sixteen sizes, from 8 × 10″ (20 × 25cm) up to 30 × 40″ (75 × 100cm), including square formats from 12 × 12″ to 30 × 30″.
Do I need to prime the canvas before painting?▾
No. Every canvas is triple primed with acid-free gesso and ready to paint straight out of the packaging.
Does this canvas need a frame?▾
No — the gallery-wrapped, staple-free edges on every size are finished to hang as-is. You can still frame any of them later if you prefer a traditional look.
